FRENCH SAVONNERIE
In total eight pieces were made, each with its own design. The patterns were selected by an interior designer in the style of ancient French Versailles. Colors were refined more than 50 times on certain pieces before production could begin. The success of this project generated further commissions; limited production capacity preserves the exclusivity of each piece.
At 300,000 knots per m², only the most experienced weavers in Rajasthan, with over 20 years at the loom, were engaged. Depending on format, production time ran between 10 and 16 months per piece.
The largest piece produced measured 25 × 15 metres. The atelier is equipped to produce even larger formats.
These carpets now reside in private villas near Moscow and Saint Petersburg, in Geneva, and in apartments in Paris and Monaco.
As of 2026, this remains true: the same 10 to 16 month production window applies to a new commission in this technique, and the atelier is still equipped for formats up to and beyond the 25 × 15 metre piece already produced.
